Varies depending on course topic and timeframe. View course availability and click on register to be taken to specific details on pricing.

The Courses meet at our Dog Psychology Center – Cesar’s original DPC in Santa Clarita, just outside Los Angeles, California.

Unfortunately, no. Many students fly in or drive in from many different locations. We are happy to provide details on accommodations once registered. Soon we will have online course available, but in the meantime your main option is at our DPC location in Santa Clarita, CA.

We welcome all students over the age of 18. Children at least seven years of age may participate in certain Courses under the supervision of their parents. Because Courses involve many outdoor physical activities, including walks on dirt roads, swimming, agility training and hands-on activities with dogs, you should be capable of physical activity in a variety of conditions. Please check the individual Course pages for any specific prerequisites.

Course size varies depending upon its nature. Most Courses accept up to 15 dogs. Each dog may be accompanied by a maximum of two humans.

While we do permit two people to accompany each dog to the DPC, during the Course sessions it is one-dog, one-human.

You may only bring one dog per Course – one-dog, one-human. If you would like to bring more than one dog to a Course, your second dog must be accompanied by a second human, who must register separately and pay the full Course fee. We do not offer special prices for multiple dogs.

We will send you an email informing you of your status within one week of registration, usually sooner.

We enthusiastically welcome participation by couples and families! Course tuition admits up to two people per dog. Children must be at least seven years old to participate and must be supervised by a parent at all times. See our individual Course pages for any exceptions.

Yes, we offer the comprehensive Fundamentals of Dog Behavior and Training I course taught by Cesar Millan and his trainers. No severely dog- or people-aggressive dogs will be permitted. Certain other behavior issues are also prohibited.

During registration, you will provide essential information about your dog. TCW trainers will review that information to ensure that the Course is appropriate for your dog (and your dog appropriate for the Course).

If your dog is approved for attendance, you must provide us with proof of current vaccinations and immunizations before you may attend.

If approved, you are wholly responsible for your dog’s care, supervision, safekeeping and behavior during the Course.

We do not offer any special rates for volunteering or working at the DPC

Fundamentals 1

Cesar Millan is the trainer for this program, teaching in-depth sessions each day. He actively participates in the hands-on afternoon sessions, assisted by his trainers.

Most Fundamentals I sessions are held at Cesar’s famous Dog Psychology Center, just outside Los Angeles, California.

Each class includes 50 participants – 20 with their dogs, 30 without.

No, we welcome all students over the age of 18, regardless of their level of experience with dogs.

Each class includes up to 45 participants – typically 20 with their dogs, 25 without.

No, we welcome all students over the age of 18, regardless of their level of experience with dogs.

Fundamentals I involves many physical activities, including Pack Walks and hands-on activities with dogs. Because many are outdoors, you should be comfortable in warm, bright sun for up to 30 minutes.

Fundamentals I is taught entirely in English. We are unable to provide translation services.

Due to space limitations, we can only accommodate one dog per person, up to a maximum of 20 dogs per session.

We must have proof of current vaccination records for rabies, Bordetella and DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). For our Florida facility, we also need H3N8 inoculation plus a fecal test. Proof of vaccination must be received by us before you attend the course. Your dog must be spayed or neutered to attend Fundamentals I. No exceptions, please. We will provide you with instructions for sending proof of vaccination after you have registered.

Fundamentals I is not a dog rehabilitation program, but a human-centered educational program. It is not designed to resolve a dog’s issues during the program (although many dogs are helped). Rather, the purpose is to teach you the Pack Leader skills so that you can be the leader your dog seeks and needs.

Although you may have opportunities for hands-on experience with dogs, we cannot guarantee it. The majority of our students do not bring dogs yet report the same satisfaction and benefit from the program as those who do.

For those not bringing a dog, we routinely approve participants within 24 – 48 hours of registration. Your credit card is not charged for the deposit until you are approved. If you wish to bring a dog, your registration will be pending while we review your dog’s suitability for the program. This may take up to one week. We will not charge your credit card for the deposit until your dog is approved. If your dog is not approved for attendance, we may offer you a non-dog spot in the course (if available).

The price includes program tuition, all program materials, four hot lunches and gala graduation banquet. Accommodations, transportation and other meals are not included.

We typically work with a local hotel that offers special rates for Fundamentals I participants – but you are responsible for making your own arrangements for lodging. We will provide you with hotel information when your registration for the course is approved. You are not required to stay at the recommended hotel.

No, we do not. We suggest that you rent a car since you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the airport as well as between the hotel and the DPC. Many participants organize carpools among themselves for traveling to and from the DPC each day. We encourage these carpools, but do not organize them.

While we welcome participation by couples or families, we do not offer family or group discounts. The program fee covers only one human (or human with dog).

We may occasionally offer discounts on course fees for various purposes. For example, we offer a 10% discount to those who register at least 90 days in advance. Should we offer discounts, only one discount may be applied to an individual course. The Cesar Millan PACK Project occasionally makes scholarship grants to qualified individuals. Please visit its site for more information

Answer:To ensure that each student receives personal guidance and experience, Fundamentals II is limited to only 32 participants.

No. To accelerate your learning experience, you will work hands-on with dogs at the Dog Psychology Center.

As with Fundamentals I, we have reserved a block of rooms at a nearby hotel. We will provide you with more information about accommodations when your registration is approved. We host four delicious hot lunches at the DPC, plus the celebratory meal on Sunday evening. All transportation, lodging costs and other meals are your responsibility.

Sorry, no. Fundamentals II builds upon the foundation of your learning and experience in Fundamentals I. When you register, we will verify your completion in Fundamentals I.

In keeping with the highly interactive and personal emphasis of Fundamentals II, you will be required to complete two important assignments before you attend: (1) Prepare and submit a video showing a behavior issue with a dog; (2) Prepare a two to three minute speech from a list of provided topics that you will present to your fellow students. We will provide complete details about the pre-work when your registration is approved.

Your videos do not have to be polished productions. All we need is about five minutes of video (shot with a smartphone) showing a dog’s behavior issue or problem. You will send it to us before your attend. We will edit it to show the dog’s most important behaviors. Each afternoon during the program, Cesar and all participants will watch several of the edited videos, identifying and discussing the dogs’ behaviors. It’s a powerful experience. We will provide you with more instructions about the video after you register.

Yes. Your presentation is one of a series of challenging exercises that will stretch your abilities and build your confidence. Through these, you will learn how to how to manage your personal energy to remain calm and assertive in all situations.

No. Fundamentals II starts bright and early on Thursday mornings. We will meet you in the lobby of the host hotel to be sure everyone has a ride to the DPC. Once at the DPC, we will provide a brief orientation and get right to work.
